WH appointee wants ‘cognitive infiltration’ of 9/11 conspiracy groups. Apparently we’re all  nutcases, who no longer have a grip on reality and we all suffer from a ‘crippled epistemology’. Wow, can I collect disability for this? I doubt it. If these two Harvard geniuses had their way, I’d be working on my tan down in Gitmo, since 9/11 activists are dangerous extremists.

Abstract:

Many millions of people hold conspiracy theories; they believe that powerful people have worked together in order to withhold the truth about some important practice or some terrible event. A recent example is the belief, widespread in some parts of the world, that the attacks of 9/11 were carried out not by Al Qaeda, but by Israel or the United States. Those who subscribe to conspiracy theories may create serious risks, including risks of violence, and the existence of such theories raises significant challenges for policy and law. The first challenge is to understand the mechanisms by which conspiracy theories prosper; the second challenge is to understand how such theories might be undermined. Such theories typically spread as a result of identifiable cognitive blunders, operating in conjunction with informational and reputational influences. A distinctive feature of conspiracy theories is their self-sealing quality. Conspiracy theorists are not likely to be persuaded by an attempt to dispel their theories; they may even characterize that very attempt as further proof of the conspiracy. Because those who hold conspiracy theories typically suffer from a crippled epistemology, in accordance with which it is rational to hold such theories, the best response consists in cognitive infiltration of extremist groups. Various policy dilemmas, such as the question whether it is better for government to rebut conspiracy theories or to ignore them, are explored in this light.

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (AP) — Evangelical broadcaster Pat Robertson says Haiti has been “cursed” because of what he called a “pact with the devil” in its history.

His spokesman said the Wednesday comments were based on Voodoo rituals carried out before a slave rebellion against French colonists in 1791.

Spokesman Chris Roslan says Robertson never stated that Tuesday’s earthquake was God’s wrath. He says Robertson’s Operation Blessing group is sending millions of dollars in medication and relief workers to the country.

Robertson has angered opponents many times before with comments on current events and criticism of other faiths.

He once said American agents should assassinate Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez and said Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon’s stroke was divine retribution for withdrawing from the Gaza Strip.

Reprint from 12/03/03 – The Coming Strike? The Anatomy of a Terrorist Hoax

This was the second article that I posted on DU, back in Dec 2003,  about my favorite fundie Jeremy Reynalds and the December 2003 terror alert. Supposedly, ‘a self proclaimed al Qaida operative Daleel Almojahid’ was warning Muslims to leave the US, because a major terrorist attack was in the works. Turned out Jeremy Reynalds was the originator of this story, which he posted on numerous rightwing sites and forums like Free Republic. Only problem with Jeremy’s story, it wasn’t true. But don’t let the Muslim haters let a little thing like the truth get in their way.

The Coming Strike?

On 12/16 this article, ‘the Coming Strike’ written by Jeremy Reynalds started popping up on extremest right wing sites all over the internet.

The source of Reynalds intel is a self proclaimed al Qaida operative Daleel Almojahid. On 12/20 Daleel Almojahid posted, ‘An Urgent letter to the American Administration from Al-Qaida’ on his Yahoo message group http://groups.yahoo.com/group/daleel_almojahid/message/31 . On 12/21 the terror alert was raised to Level Orange.

Most of the info that Ridge and Co has sighted for the reasons for raising the alert level is the same info that is in the ‘Urgent Letter’ and ‘the Coming Strike’ article. Were these documents what triggered the alert? And if they are then how the heck is Jeremy Reynalds, an extreme radical right wing fundie, the only one who had the inside scoop? How does he know so much about Daleel Almojahid and his threats, or is he making up these threats up himself in the name of Daleel Almojahid?

My take on this is that on 12/16 Reynalds started spreading this story around the internet, he may have even made up this character Daleel and Reynalds may actually be the one who posted this ‘Urgent Letter’. In internet forums and chat rooms this information began to spread around. For example, there have been at least a few discussions on Free Republic about Reynalds and Daleel articles. Now much is this information is becoming the stuff of urban or should I say Internet legend. All of a sudden Homeland Security gets alerted to all this chatter on the internet and now here we are at Code Orange and misinformation is flying all over the place. If this is true, then the real terroist is not Daleel Almojahid, it is Jeremy Reynalds and this whole alert may be based on the fantasies of one sick individual.

The only revision I would like to make is that I no longer think Jeremy Reynolds was writing this stuff himself. I think he was getting it from the same group that David Montgomery was connected to, who convinced the Pentagon that they could decode al CIAda messages from al Jazeera broadcasts.

Code Orange: Was it based on an Internet Hoax?

It is coming to light that my favorite fundie Jeremy Reynalds was probably part of a psyops group, that ‘created’ all the noise that set off the December 2003 terror alert. This was the scare that supposedly al CIAda had issued an alert to all Muslims to leave the US because they were going to attack us with dirty bombs. However, none of this was true. It was all fabricated by a group of ‘Americans’ in order to help BushCo justify the bogus war on terror and to get away with invading Iraq.

Isn’t this a form of terrorism? At the least, this scam should be considered a hate crime, since they claimed that Muslims and al CIAda terrorist were planning to attacks with dirty bombs and it turns out that the whole story was a pack of lies that they made up?

What’s even more insane is that the same thing is happening again and most Americans are failing for it hook, line and sinker.

Swindler duped CIA over Al-Qaeda decoding scam: report

A con artist convinced the CIA and other US agencies in 2003 that he could decode secret messages sent by Al-Qaeda through Al-Jazeera broadcasts, Playboy magazine reported.

Duped by claims that “bar codes” on Al-Jazeera television contained targeting information for Al-Qaeda attacks, former president George W. Bush’s administration raised the terror alert and cancelled several transatlantic flights in December 2003, the report said, citing former CIA officials.

The swindler at the center of the scam was Dennis Montgomery, head of a small software company in Reno, Nevada. He persuaded the Central Intelligence Agency and the Department of Homeland Security that his technology could decipher messages with flight numbers and longitudes and latitudes meant for Al-Qaeda operatives.

Oh my, turns out that Dennis Montgomery, head of a small software company in Reno, Nevada was the swindler at the center of the scam. Could it be that Reynalds was getting most of his ‘info’ for his articles that he posted all over conservative websites like BushCountry.org and Talon News, from the same guy that was convincing that CIA that he had magic powers to decode al CIAda messages?

So where is all this chatter really coming from? And who is Jeremy Reynalds and why should we care?

The brownshirts are out in force on the Internet all of a sudden. Suddenly, there are numerous reports of al Qaeda plans for another terrorist attack. However, most of these reports seem to be coming from one person. A Mr. Jeremy Reynalds. Reynalds has been posting on numerous sites about assorted al Qaeda threats that he finds while he monitors al Qaeda websites in his spare time. The main source of his latest threats is someone named Daleel_Almojahid.

A letter to the Bush Administration containing a list of demands from an alleged representative of the Islamic Jihad Brigade Black Death Squad says failure to fulfil those orders will have deadly consequences.

The document reads in part (sic), “We will give you a prior few minutes notice before our blessed attack so that you will be able to watch your destruction with your own satellite, as we would be by then have passed the skies of the seventh sky to heaven and your nation to the fires of hell.”

While this document, written by alleged al Qaeda operative Daleel Almojahid, appears to indicate some sort of nuclear attack, it does seem to mirror closely other terrorist information that is being broadly circulated. On Friday Reuters reported the White House said it had warned security personnel to be on the look out for terror attacks during the Christmas holiday season.

Self proclaimed al Qaida operative Daleel Almojahid said people should not be fooled by the jubilation shown over Hussein’s capture. Almojahid wrote in an e-mail (sic), “Don’t let the happiness fool you, the Americans are in the worst situation ever since starting their war on Afghanistan and Iraq … The trap of Baghdad will start showing its teeth soon, and as you all know al Qaida has issued a warning for all Muslims to start leaving parts of the US. We hope that the warnings have reached.”

Almojahid contended that (sic), “The (real) war with America did not start yet. The mojahideen are moving with certain planes. The timing of the start of the war will be decided (by) the mojahideen themself; but we can promise you that Bush and Blair and a lot of the crusaders don’t know yet who al Qaida really is, but they will soon. The coming strike will turn the table upside down and we promise all Muslims in the word that god’s victory is very near if you just know. We will issue a demand letter after the first strike and we advise America to answer all our demands right away.”

However, as you can see, some of his previous predictions about about imminent terrorist attacks have not been based in reality.

Terrorist Planning To Poison Americans?

Posts on a Jordanian based internet hate site bulletin board hosted by an internet service provider based in Atlanta, Ga. are discussing what they say are plans for a campaign to poison Americans when they go out to eat at restaurants.

The information is reportedly coming from a “trustworthy source.” The report was apparently posted with a view toward warning Muslims about upcoming plans. The post appears to say that the writer is not someone who believes that Muslims who support American owned businesses deserve death by poisoning. The writer says that those who haven’t up until now boycotted American restaurants need to do so in the near future and spread the warning to others.

As you process the shocking nature of these posts, please bear in mind that I am not in any way vouching for their validity. A proposed attack upon American restaurants may or may not be in the works. Obviously, I hope that it’s just the hateful ramblings of some demented people who have no intention or ability of carrying out their actions. But you never know, and that’s why I thought it was important to pass this information on. (My educated guess is that you’re not going to hear about this from the government, even though law enforcement authorities have been informed).

On the eve of 9/11, the self-described political wing of al- Qaida is

The warning also comes on a day when the Bush administration has
Heightened its color-coded terror alert for Wednesday to a “high alert” orange.

An e-mail to me from the web master for a web site claiming speak for
Abu Hamza, the religious leader in charge of the Finsbury Park mosque in London, and an alleged key recruiting ground for terrorists, read:

“Our Military Wings are ready to attack several Targets World-Wide! … YES Al-Qaida Military Wing will attack USA in near future we can not give any details of operation on going in the same way you can not give details of your attack on Muslims around the world. Feel free to attend our Thanks Giving for the Lives of our Martyrs Lives who gave their lives fighting for a Islamic world FREE of all AMERICANS ! Your country’s stand with Israel and the daily attacks on Muslims around the world shows that more attacks by the Military Wing of Al-Qaida are a important tool in our fight for Justice. We demand all USA forces to leave our holy lands and the stepping down of Arab leaders who stand by USA policy for OIL and lands for Jews!”

This e-mail was in response to a note I sent to Abu Hamza a few days ago which asked the following question: “I am a reporter who has been doing a series of articles on internet terrorism. Are you planning an attack on America in commemoration of 9/11?”

In that list there’s even an article devoted to us, www.democraticunderground.com . It seems that in Jim’s mind there is not much of a difference between us and al Qaeda.

Democrats Go Underground

It’s a blatantly “in-your-face” anti-conservative gathering place on the web for apparently mostly rabid Democrats and other like-minded radicals who are convinced that President George W. Bush holds his presidential office illegitimately.

The site is www.democraticunderground.com and the site owners are quite clear about where they stand.

If you want to make sure that their worn-out dreams and aspirations don’t come to fruition, here’s what you need to do. Keep (or start) praying for the Lord’s blessing upon President Bush and all the members of his cabinet, pray for the upcoming elections and your elected representatives and make sure that you vote. The results of your failure to do so could be terrifying for the future of our country!

So what to do? We need to expose this crap. Please pass this along to anybody and everybody. We need to get the word out on this fellow. This is where the ‘chatter’ is coming from all of a sudden. One thing that I can tell for sure is whether or not Daleel Almojahid is a real person or someone who Reynolds has created. If Reynolds ‘created’ this character then Reynolds should be prosecuted for supplying false and misleading information at the least and creating a state of emergency by disseminating this information all over the internet.

What happened to the cars at the WTC?

On 9/11, we have visual evidence that a number of cars caught fire on the streets around the WTC complex.  In the Burning Vehicles at Ground Zero – Slide Show are the images I’ve collected of the vehicles that were on fire after the collapses of the Twin Towers. Most of the images were taken on 09/11/01, while the vehicles were still on fire (if there is an image available) and before the vehicles were moved, otherwise.

The majority of vehicles that caught fire were on the north side of the WTC complex, in the area around WTC 7. The furthest away that vehicles caught fire was the West Street Parking Lot. Most of the vehicles were in the ’small debris’ zone and often there is some aluminum cladding near by. But there are a number of vehicles that were not hit by falling debris that caught fire. So if the fires were caused by burning or overheated aluminum, other things would have caught fire too. But except for one report, it seems most of the people who were caught in the debris clouds did not get burnt.

So the big questions are how and exactly when did this happen? I still don’t know how, and no I don’t believe in space beams. I do believe that nano-thermite and other types of explosives were used to destroy the WTC complex. I hope that people who have more expertise then I do in regards to weapons and explosives can use this information to find out what did happen?

However, I have come across another series of images, that do establish WHEN most of the cars caught fire.

West Street Parking Lot – Slide Show

(Check out the slide show to see the whole series of pictures that gives context to the events in this area after the collapse of  WTC 1.)

These pictures were taking on the morning of 9/11. Even after the skies around NYC were suppose to be cleared of air traffic, a number of helicopters were allowed to continue flying. In one of them, someone took a number of hi res photos that have appeared on the internet at a couple of sites. The best source that I know of is at Military Photos of the Twin Towers

The first image in the series establishes time -  the start of the collapse of WTC 2

In image #20, the helicopter has come around to the west side, at the end of the collapse of WTC 2. The West Street Parking Lot is the right of WTC 7 and at this time there is no signs of smoke or fire from this area.

In image #25,  WTC 1 is collapsing. The debris cloud has not yet reached the West Street Parking Lot, which is on the right side of the picture. There is no fire in this area at this point.

In image #28, the debris cloud now completely covers the parking lot and we can no longer see the vehicles underneath.

In image #40, the debris cloud is dissipating and there is now black smoke starting to rise from the vehicles.

In image # 47, the vehicles in the West Street Parking Lot are now billowing black smoke.

What happened between the start of the collapse of WTC 1 and when the debris cloud dissipated, that caused vehicles this far away to catch fire?

A number of vehicles around the WTC caught fire during the attack. In order to understand why some vehicles caught fire, it is important to collect as much evidence as possible. The slide show at the link is a collection of the visual evidence. I’ve tried to put them in (sort of) chronological order and when possible by location. The idea is to create a virtual walking tour through the damage.

However, according to Flight Data provided by the NTSB, the Flight Deck Door was never opened in flight. How were the hijackers able to gain access to the cockpit, remove the pilots, and navigate the aircraft to the Pentagon if the Flight Deck Door remained closed?[3]

9/11 tragedy pager intercepts.

From 3AM on Wednesday November 25, 2009, until 3AM the following day (US east coast time), WikiLeaks is releasing over half a million US national text pager intercepts. The intercepts cover a 24 hour period surrounding the September 11, 2001 attacks in New York and Washington.

The messages are being broadcast to the global community “live”, sychronized to the time of day they were sent. The first message is from 3AM September 11, 2001, five hours before the first attack, and the last, 24 hours later.

Text pagers are usualy carried by persons operating in an official capacity. Messages in the archive range from Pentagon and New York Police Department exchanges, to computers reporting faults to their operators as the World Trade Center collapsed.

The archive is a completely objective record of the defining moment of our time. We hope that its revelation will lead to a more nuanced understanding of the event and its tragic consequences.
